C Plus Solution is a food supplement based on Vitamin C, Zinc and Selenium, specially formulated to support the body's natural defenses.
Thanks to the combined action of the 3 components on the immune system, C Plus Solution helps to face in the best way the winter season or other periods of the year when a correct dietary integration may be more useful. Vitamin C, Selenium and Zinc are essential to the action of enzymes capable of destroying radicals (glutathione peroxidase, superoxide dismutase). The formation of excess free radicals comes from processes of cellular oxidative stress. This process plays an important role in damaging muscle membranes during exercise, especially if intense, prolonged and in subjects not perfectly trained. In the muscle, the damage triggered by radicals can produce structural alterations (e.g. irreversible rupture of the muscle fiber), and painful phenomena.
In addition to physical activity, oxidative damage (induced by radicals) can occur for genetic and environmental reasons, becoming risk factors for cardiovascular disease (atherosclerosis), cancer and premature aging processes. Keep in mind that our "plasma anti-oxidant potential" decreases sharply with age, and even more so in smokers.
CONTENT: 60 tablets of 450 mg
Directions: It is recommended to take 2 tablets after main meals.
Vitamin C.
Vitamin C or L-ascorbic acid takes its name from its capacity to cure scurvy, a disease which in the past affected sailors who were not able to eat fresh vegetables for a long time. It is one of the most important vitamins because its spectrum of action is really wide.
It is necessary to take vitamin C with food or supplementation because our body is not able to synthesize it. In our body, there is only a small reserve of it within the adrenal glands.
The positive functions of this vitamin are many:
Signs of deficiency are shortness of breath, poor digestion, brittle hair, broken capillary vessels, bleeding gums, swollen and painful joints, anemia, decreased resistance to infection, slow healing of fractures and wounds. In smokers, it is important to supplement vitamin C consumption as smoking is known to decrease ascorbic acid levels in the blood.
Zinc.
This mineral is ubiquitous in the body. Zinc is found in every plant and animal cell.
It is necessary for DNA synthesis and the building of new tissues, making it essential for proper growth and development in infants. Zinc is an essential constituent of more than 100 enzymes involved in the digestion and utilization of fats, proteins and carbohydrates, and is intimately linked to energy production. Zinc also supports the immune system, which is why it is carefully considered as a possible aid in fighting infection and healing wounds.
Zinc is necessary for the development of T-cells, the cells that attack viruses and pathogenic bacteria and help us fight infections. Studies show that in malnourished children with low zinc levels, zinc supplementation stimulates a rise in T-cell counts and reduces the severity and duration of infections.
Selenium.
Selenium is an element that acts, primarily, as a component of the antioxidant enzyme glutathione peroxidase, which in turn operates together with vitamin C in preventing damage produced by free radicals to cell membranes. Selenium, in the form of seleno-cysteine, is contained in the active sites of the enzyme. Besides this form, the mineral is present in other proteins such as selenium-methionine and is also found in the body in its inorganic forms selenites and selenates.
Thanks to its ability to protect cell membranes from oxidation, selenium has a protective effect against cardiovascular disease. It also appears to play an antagonistic role against heavy metals, such as mercury, cadmium and silver.
Low selenium levels are linked to an increased risk of cancer, cardiovascular disorders, inflammatory diseases and other conditions associated with free radical damage, including premature aging and cataract formation.
